Liverpool 8th June 1979- Dire Straits played at Liverpool Empire Theatre. As chance would have it, 2 days later I had lunch with their manager, Ed Bicknell. I remember him telling me about the time when he negotiated a contract advertising Mars bars for Marianne Faithful, who he also managed. He said that she declined the deal, claiming that the infamous incident in the 60's had involved a Milky Way!
