MK - the next step

No idea about the economics, but my assumption would be that One Deep River actually lost money? Does this factor in to his thinking at this stage?

Even if he would be working on a new album, that would mean nothing. He would probably would fiddling around with Guy on mics and amps for the next three to five years...

I would recomment to release EP's every one or two years instead of albums all five years. Better to have three or four good songs than an album as boring as ODR again.

Suspect we will get a smattering of new material which will take time to come to fruition interspersed with back catalogue from DS and MK. Odds on some kind of MK live boxset along to mirror the DS set at some stage. Along with the inevitable Music Fidelity / atmos mix / mastered by Bob Lidwigs second cousin vinyl releases of existing albums

He must also consider his age and if he take another five years or so then 80 is an age when he may not want to be doing much promo or travelling in his condition.

I also wonder just how his playing is these days. Even on the last album there's a mistake on it and it wasn't exactly a one take recording!

I'd love it if he did something completely different. Him and Guy are great at conjuring atmospheres, and they could put together a brilliant ambient record or electronic soundtrack. No pressure on the guitar playing, singing etc.

Well, it sold quite a few copies, so that should cover the production costs at least.
BG costs a lot of course, but ideally it should more or less pay for itself now that covid is over and people can record again.
I don't think money is a factor at all to him when it comes to making a record.

Personally, I don't think we will see any more full scale projects, but I hope I am wrong. I think at this point if it were full scale, it would be already completed but unreleased works, or feature so little of what we all "expect" from an MK record in terms of him playing...

I know I am, we are in the minority but I don't want to live in a world without CD albums. Many artists are still releasing albums, and I hope that never changes.
