I may have missed this somewhere in all the discussions but is Ed referring to AC as the splif lighting arsehole on the BIA tour. T

He most definitely did not say that.

No need for that, and of course it's fine to speculate, it's what we do best here! But just making it clear that Ed did not identify that individual. :)

Yup, a great thank you to Ed and to Dusty for facilitating the whole thing.

I hope everyone realizes and appreciates what a historic and monumental thing this was. One might say the only thing to top it would be if Mark himself did a Q&A here, but I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have bothered to answer so comprehensively as Ed has and certainly not as entertaining and funny. And it's quite clear to me what an amazing job Ed has done as the DS manager. I'm feeling rather starstruck right now. Wow. Seriously.

Agreed, it was epic! Many thanks to Ed for his time and for treating us with respect even though some questions may have been a bit silly. His answers completely exceeded my expectations - so elaborative, witty, and wise all the way. I feel privileged to have been able to participate. Big thanks to our only Dusty for facilitating and also cheers to his dedicated team: Busty, Lusty, and Fusty for moral support.  :thumbsup :thumbsup
...Well, he's a big star now but I've been a fan of his for years. The way he sings and plays guitar still bring me to tears...

I know one thing: it won't end with one reading.

Definitely not. And I hope someone, somewhere has got a good backup of these threads. ;-)

Ed. You da man! THANKYOU. Can't thank you enough really  and again to Dusty for making this happen. Dedication.

Feels kinda sad that this has come to an end so please stick around.

Ed said that Mark is an observational writer, rather than autobiographical.  It's clear that he hasn't listened to the last three albums!

I know, he said he hasn't listened to anything since STP.  It just reiterates this change in Mark's writing.

Thinking about the fact Ed hasn't listened to Mark music since Sailing To Philadelphia, which song would people recommend he listen to from post that album? Terminal of Tribute To? :think

I don't know about anyone else, but there was SO much coming through in the last few weeks that I found it difficult to keep up with the sheer volume.

I intend to go back through the answer thread and come back here with points that pique my interest, hopefully others can do the same :)

To be honest, I can't understand this stance of not listening to Mark's stuff after 2000, it feels to me more like a personal gripe or something. I mean it's the same guy, same voice, same guitar, songs are as strong as ever, the band is better than ever, recording quality can't be better, Shangri-La is easily Mark's magnum opus. What not to like about it?

Maybe Ed only listened to Mark's songs upto 2000 because he was his manager! and in reality he is not really a fan of Mark's songs!!
