Yeah, though opinions are a bit spit on this one. I've heard people complain it's too "cheesy", and too slow, Mark's singing is bad, and the original is much better. Comparing the two versions is pointless, of course, but this cover is a good tester of whether you "get" Mark's music or not. Yes, it's slow, and maybe a bit cheesy with this intro, Mark's singing is not singing, it's talking. There are way more good parts about it though than bad parts you can ever come up with, and it's objectively an amazing arrangement, perfect recording and reimagining of the 45-year-old song (at the time of recording).

I always had mixed feelings about "featuring MK" songs.
Despite i always look MK as a genius guitarist (as the fact the he almost invented a unique language as a player), I always felt the MK brilliance in other people songs are conditioned to these songs needed to be very well founed on the style of MK.

That one, in particular, i don't really like. Mark's singing is OK, but his playing is a bit off. The cheesy arrangement is a detail.

There is no spectacular guitar work, but this is so beautiful!

In general, I’m not a big fan of his instrumental contributions to songs. Not because of the contribution itself, but I think most producers and mixers don’t understand a thing about his playing. They totally butcher it with effects, making it sound too thin, with too much compression, etc.

I love this song so much that one listen is not enough!    I have to listen over and over - it's so beautiful, especially the last verse.    :)

Also recently I was reminded of this song with Mark singing in the impressively high register:

And also with Van Morrison (this topic is destined just to list ALL Mark's collaborations though):
