Les paul
« on: August 21, 2024, 09:12:18 PM »
Hi everyone. I'm big fan of Mark's songs on a Les Paul, like the sound on 'Are we in trouble now'. I don't Know much about guitars, bit I came up with a list of songs that I think have that same sound. Maybe you van correct me or put some more songs on the list?
The long Highway
Are we in trouble now
Wherever I go
Darling pretty
Imelda
Rüdiger
Je suis delose
Janine
If this is goodye
I dug up a Diamond

Hi, and welcome! :-)
I'm not sure about the Long Highway and Je suis désolé, but you are right about the others.
Some other songs with a similar sound are:
We will remember them
So far from the Clyde
Brothers in Arms

Cleaning my gun, but that's with more distortion.  I love that longing, wailing sound of the Paula, no other guitar can do that!

Edit: apart from Brian May's self-built Fireplace guitar, of course :-)

Love the Les Paul sound on "Song for Sonny Listen".

On the album it's not a Les Paul but a Eko 700, but with live versions you are right of course.

I always thought Are We In Trouble Now was the Pensa on the record. Same with Rudiger.
