Dylan has been pairing up with other big acts for a long time.

I saw him with Van in 97.

Van was terrible. And I’m a Van fan man.

Van was doing very badly in the 90s. He had stagefright, which sometimes forced him to stop the shows after less than an hour. Don't know if he has learned to manage it in the meantime. I'd still like to see him one day.

I can't really think of anyone in the music business who behaves like that almost all the time, even behind the scenes and with his peers.

If I'm not mistaken, Chuck Berry was famous for being harsh with his musicians (most of the time it was local musicians who had to play without any reharsals) and he was also like that with his peers, like Keith for exemple in the Hail Hail rock n roll documentary

I saw Bob in 1994.
I will write a chronicle for the 30th anniversary in july.

He was bored to death. He didn't play famous songs except All along the watchtower

I was very disapointed

Also, it was a “bonus” MK tour - he wouldn’t have been playing that year if Bob hadn’t invited him out.

And we got to hear some new songs before they were recorded, plus some surprises. :)

We got BIA played on the blue Les Paul, which turned out to be extremely rare to see.

Mark's part of the show was excellent!   :)

And tuned a half step down, so he played it in Am (though it sounded like G#m), which was also surprising!

Yes, I loved that guitar, also on WAM and SFSL. But I guess Mark wasn't overly impressed by it as he rarely used it after the Bob tours?

I don't want no sugar in it, thank you very much!

I loved it too, both the color and the sound. It was used on Precious Voice From Heaven.

I find it amusing that Bob is still annoying people after 60 years.

In this life there are people you "get" and people you don't. I "get" Bob and love him, crappy singing as all.

It seems for many people though the crappy singing and general half-arsedness really annoys some people, which is probably exactly what he is going for. :)
for me the event of that tour for me is being there when they played that mythical song "Blind Willie McTell" for the first time, together on stage in Oberhausen. i had always been fascinated by this song so that was like a second coming in itself ...
bob is bob is bob, no greys there, i always loved the man, despite/because of the voice.
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

He changed the pickups on it before it went to auction.

Dunno, I guess like all us guitarists who swap pickups he just fancied a change.

Apparently the originals were put back in before it was sold.

If I had to choose one Dylan song for that lonely island, "Blind Willie McTell" would be the song! The Bootleg Series recording.

And importantly it's a song recorded with MK :)
