Some lesser-known songs
« on: May 30, 2024, 06:20:41 PM »
Hello everyone! I'm diving deeper into Mark Knopfler's work beyond Dire Straits and I'm curious. Can anyone recommend some lesser-known songs or projects by him? I'm eager to explore hidden gems. Thanks in advance!

Hi, it depends on which ones you know already, and what style you prefer.
There are a lot of collaborations, ranging from Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Sting to more obscure things like Phil Lynott and Aztec Camera. And also lots of country music, of course.
My all-time favourite collab is the "Miracle" album by Willy Deville! "Angel Eyes" is the best song on that album, imho.

What are some of the songs you already like, so we know what to recommend?

Yeah probably, but that was the reason for asking.
