Thanks for your observations JF! It seems that we get a lot of those nice classic MK strat tones this time, wasn‘t the case with DTRW, I think. What about Tunnel 13, is it more Les Paul driven tone?

yes classic strat tones, but very clean. Not crunchy like WII, STP oor TOTT unfortunately for my taste

yes Tunnel 13 is indeed more driven tone, but I'm not sur if it is Les Paul, Pensa, Don Grosh, etc... with the arrangments in the background, it has a kind of kingdom of gold flavour to my ears

Yes, thank you, JF. Since you know Mark's material so well, your comparisons make a lot of sense.

And that's good news too :)
JF thank you for all the answers. I read with great interest.

I'm very happy that most of the songs have a proper ending without a fade out. Only Ahead Of The Game, Watch Me Gone and Two Pairs of Hands fade out. If I counted correctly.

I find it imteresting that the album cover and the title track implies a song about the Tyne but obviously the album sounds more Americana and has nothing to do with it. The bridge however is also on the guitar that is mentioned in the Tunnel 13 lyrics.

Yes. In one of the German press reviews I had quoted a line from the lyrics.

"Tunnel 13 is the place in the song where the beautiful redwood for my guitar came from".

I must add that the more I listen to the songs, the more I like them.

I've been listening to the three songs on repeat and love them all.
JF, a big thanks for your answers and your first impressions on the album.
