What type of file should we send you ?

I bet you need multi-tracks with the guide track to synchronize ?

does it mean that we have to send you 2 files ? one mixed with guide track, and one with only our contribution ?  :think

I don't which DAW you use, but at least in Reaper it is possible to export a single track in such a way that it is completely "filled up" so that it is always synchronized with the beginning. This means that it is enough to send a track and it will always start at the beginning when you insert the many tracks into a project later - and you will have no problems with synchronization.

Yes Dusty I was thinking doing that way

Tobi777 the problem is that each recording may not start at the same time even with the guide track

I confirm  :)

but I won't have the time til in one or two weeks...

no rush, JF.
The deadline is your article on August 24th.

I believe that a real deadline for the recordings will be May 1st?

Holy cow, I like it more than this Going Home with 69 Guitar Legends... Seriously, beautiful stuff. I'll be hard-pressed to add something valuable to it. But let's see.

thanks, amigo.

You will do an amazing work, i'm sure about it.
This guide track is not the final one, its just for practice.
I will setup the full length soon.

Hello!

I don't have drums, but have a practice pad and brushes, so I can also record some brushes for rythm and also shakers.

I'm not sure if I can add flute as I play by ear, but I will try as well.

Great!

Good question.
You can render your tracks separately.
From 0:00:000 till the end. So i can add one track below the others.
Files in .wav 48000 24bits

You can DM me with the link of your tracks.

Perfect.
I use Reaper.
After that, i will send the files to 2manyguitars and TheTimeWasWrong

Tobi777 the problem is that each recording may not start at the same time even with the guide track

You have two tracks in your DAW - one guide track and your new track.
Even if you start at some point into the guiding track - say at 03:00 - for your solo, you can then export the track in a way which will fill it up with "silence" from the start to your beginning.
So the guy who mixes the different tracks can just import your track and it starts at the right time (with silence, off course, but therefore it is aligned with the beginning).

I haven't listened to the guide track yet but if you have  a click at the start then it's easy to line the files up...

I was thinking in using Audacity but I'm not sure if is going to work as I want, as my idea is plug my zoom digital recorder as a mic, and play the guidetrack in the computer. In my head, audacity will record the guidetrack in one channel and what im playing in another, but I'm not sure if it does it that way or if it mixes both sources in stereo... I would do some tests as I want to record at least two tracks, one for brushes and another for the shaker.
So Long

I will work on a proper track now we know all the musicians.
I will add section for all have a individual solo part.

For those who doesn't know how to do it or maybe need a path to follow, i suggest that the recording process in the modes of the LH.
For example:
In my case, i will record elec guitar.
So, i will record:
- track 1: Main theme
- track 2: Interventions on the main theme
- track 3: guitar solo

If everyone does things based on this example, will be easy to fill the track with parts from all musicians.

This is only an example of my process.
You guys can do anything that you want.

I'm sure that will be a huge sucess.
And will be pressed on a half-speed vynil.

Rolo, can you provide the backing track in wav format? The mp3 has already lost a little bit of quality.

Surely doesn't matter? You're just playing along with it?!

Rolo, I'll just do fill/colouring/atmosphere parts so don't leave a space for me :)
