IF we are to accept that the song is literally about a pawn shop dealer, then it is the pawn shop dealing having a go at organised religion.

It finally made it's way to Youtube. I enjoy this one. Not the fanciest guitar playing, but the few twiddly bits that are there are well put together. It feels like a really well executed idea.

My only complaint is that the outro is too dull to justify going on for that long. If it was up to me, I'd either fade it out around 4:10, or make it a "full stop" around the same time (there are plenty of spots where it feels right to do just that, but for whatever reason they keep going).

Finally had a chance to hear this.
The intro sounds like Dylan's "Things Have Changed", while the song afterwords is basically Beryl 2.0.
I like it!
Could've been on the album.

They release a enormous amount of songs that, in my opinion, turn the main product weak.
I remember that even Mark himseft said that he don't know what will be released or not. He doesn't have control about the release strategy.

Dire Straits was massive and one good thing is that the band (thanks Ed) only released the best songs.

One Deep River could be, as an album, waaaaay better if the album only has showed the best songs collected by ODR, Extras and EP.

Even DTRW could be a good album with less songs.

Quality over quantity.
Less is more. (take it easy Yngwie)

Is that really true? I always thought that he had full artistic control. Wasn't there a dispute about the Privateering record because the record company didn't want to release it as a double album, and then he just left and signed with another company? 😂

Well, there is a recent interview that he said that he doesn't know about the songs that are released.
Maybe he changed his mind during the DTRW releases.

He said things like: "I just record the songs. I don't know witch will be released"

Well he used to be interested because he had to be convinced to include WOL on BiA.

And he was outvoted (wrongly) about My Parties on OES.

GF said Scavengers Yard should have been a single. They have massively cocked the track selection. The basic album could have been great with the best tracks.
