Guy doesn't say no. He doesn't say never. Mark has said in interviews that he will continue to record new songs. The last session was gigantic. I don't think the One Deep River album will be the last.

I still listen very often to ODR, while I rarely listen to DDRW or Tracker. ODR is by far the best one of the Guy-trilogy. However, in general, I much prefer the records produced by Chuck. Nothing beats STP in terms of songwriting, production, and mixing IMHO.

I very hope that I am wrong. However, I think that ODR is MK's final album.
The songs and the comtemplative vibe, for me, reflects the 'last work'. The countrish vibe, clean guitar tones... there are many references from all his solo career. ODR is like a compilation.

I almost stop listening Mark's albums since KTGC.
After that, there are so many similar songs. In terms of sound, Tracker is really good. However, this album never got me.

I agree that STP is, by far, his best album. The whole package is fantastic. Listening to What It Is played at 2013 in a slow, boring and flat way does not reflect, at all, the way that MK & Cia played on the 2001 tour.

It's interesting that Mark said in the Tracker film that Henrik Hansen did that there are so many songs he'll never get around to recording, but, now he isn't touring, surely that gives him lots of time to record, but nothing seems to be happening (at the moment)
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

ODR was issued in 2024.
Next one being recorded in 2026 and published in 2027 would be a realistic agenda.

There was no more touring.
The 2 or 3 years album gap was mainly because of the tours.
If would be a next album, I'm sure that the gang will be on studio later this year.

Springsteen is apparently releasing seven previously unreleased albums!

HA! I should mention this yesterday.
However, Ed could read this and the debate about unreleased stuff would happen again, LOL

New chapter in that endless complicated relationship between ODR and me. I've seen a good friend last week after a long time and he gave me ODR as a present on vinyl as he thought that I would like it. Couldn't tell him that I already had that one and now the last couple of days I was comparing my both vinyl versions ref. pressing quality and stuff and was listening to all four sides repeatedly and very intense. I found that my original version from the Box Set is very good and after I have had it cleaned professionally a couple of months ago it is almost perfect and I am very pleased with the quality (and yes I have the CD, too).

BUT after all this listenings something happened. It clicked, a breakthrough happened: I can now officially declare that I LOVE it.  :wave Blimey, it must have been the longest Initiation time I've had with any MK release. Or maybe it resonates with another man than the one I was last year. It really speaks to me, must have listened to it entirely three or four times tonight alone. It feels like at release day with one year delay. Plus I can delve into the bonus songs with much more ease now. An undefined bunch of 25 or 26 songs finally is divided in a perfect album on the one side  and a loose collection of fresh good songs (some weak too) on the other.

Greetings to Pottel who wrote the other day that he listens to it on a daily base, Maarten suddenly I feel you!  :lol

As Guy said, it's a deep album. Obviously it was too deep for me to find out  how brilliant it is in April 2024.

And the gift from my friend had a huge impact and was catalyzing this latest love to an album which gave me some hard time the first months after its' release. But Mark said it: It's okay to wait for the good things in life.

If this stays his last one, it will fill this place with grace and honour. Well done, Mark.
