I love the album title. I expected something epic, and epic it is.
I disagree about the song titles being atypical. If anyone would have shown me this list of titles and asked whose songs it was, I wouldn't have doubted for a second. And I love the titles. They all sound very promising, very Mark. And the closing track is going to be awesome, I'm sure. It can't be any other way.
As for the cover, I always wish for more creativity, but I've accepted a long time ago that it's not where Mark or the designers he hires go on adventures. It's a nice shot, for sure. And isn't it funny that this is the third symmetrical (sorry, almost symmetrical) cover in a row, after Tracker and Down the Road Wherever? Even Privateering is quite symmetrical. I guess Mark is a Stanley Kubrick fan. By the way, I think the slight asymmetry - the bridge being a bit too much too the left - is totally deliberate. It's not just about mathematical symmetry, it's also about the "weight" of each side. There's more black on the right, which makes it heavier. The picture "feels" more balanced this way, I believe.
Anyway, I'm off to learn the song titles by heart. What a great day.
