BUY A RECORD PLAYER! Simples!

I simply can't agree with that part in your answer, vinyle is no more a standard way to access music now.
Releasing new music that excluding way is just reaching the red line.

It wasn't, but it is again.

LE

If you look at the figure you can only call it "a trend".

Figure for 2023 world music market

The global music market is $ 28.6 billion

Vinyle value is $ 1.8 billion (out of $ 5.1 billion for physical selling)

No, it is not. I am in no way interested in the much higher price and downright hassle, especially not for inferior sound quality. The "vinyl experience", too, does not interest me in the slightest. Limiting some of the tracks to vinyl only is an utter joke.

What's next? Limiting some tracks to people who can verify that they own tube amps and horn-loaded speakers?

Luckily these will be digitally available later. I understand why there are not available just today. CD would be also nice.

Yes, vinyl first, then digital is perfectly OK with me. But that's not the case with One Deep River vinyl bonus tracks. Or?

So the artist who popularised the compact disc gives his vinyl fans special privileges...  :think

OK calm down everyone! Probably tomorrow.

I’m a bit fed up of people who only turn up at AMIt when there are bonus tracks though…

Finally somebody said it. Thank you!

No disrespect, but this forum is generally very quiet. I come here whenever there’s a new album, or tour (none of those anymore) to discuss. The new album brought me back, the bonus tracks issue was incidental.

Generally quiet??  :lol :lol

It would be even more quiet if everyone took this approach. In fact it would be dead.

If you lurk every now and then and end up with 14 posts since 2019, which would only be the previous release ("whenever"), well...

Record store day is all about supporting the small independent shops that normally get outmuscled and out priced. These guys are all about the music. RSD is a great incentive that brings people through the door of these shops and hopefully provides a much needed boost to the coffers too. That’s hardly elitism. As with most RSD “exclusives” I’m not shocked to see The Boy will be out in other formats very soon too. I hope everyone enjoys the music. What a week to be an MK Fan!
