Got up early this morning and just became the proud owner of The Boy EP, sadly I don’t own a record player…
Hope someone around here can help me (and others) out with a good needle drop conversion to a digital file to be able to actually listen to those songs?

Picked it up at my rivertown in Ireland just now, nobody around. They only got 1 the shop said. No record player though, someone please send on the flac so I can listen in the car, please. :-)

So many AMITer's saying this. If capitalism has treated you kindly go and buy a second hand record player (from the 80s will do), a phono amp (also check if your existing amp already has a phono input) & the best damn bookshelf speakers you can find, it will change your life! Find an old hifi repair shop and talk to them, in my experience the people that repair old hifi equipment are kind and will know what you're after when you describe your needs. Nobody's getting any younger, do it. Do it now.


*I have a second hand CEC Harksound turntable, and Cambridge Audio / Rotel amplifiers + really good speakers (that's where all the money is). It's a glorious thing.

Cheers! A real buzz this morning. In the queue since 5am, met some lovely people, then a numbered sheet given to us all to select our choices then when you get to the counter and it is your turn there it is on the counter for you! Such a great start to a fabulous day!

I can borrow one in an hour, so i can hopefully listen soon, if it works on my reciever
