DS Live is the most streamed album at Qobuz for November. Ahead of Red and Blue albums, and everything else.

Chris, still about songs that weren't played live like: My Parties, Ticket to Heaven, How Long, Milionare Blues and Kingdom Come, both from the OES album, any memories if they were at least rehearsed?
Let's go down to the waterline!

I don't think so.
It was usually older material that was tried and dismissed.
Yes, Tunnel and Telegraph were usually alternated.

I'm not sure I would reply to a thread dedicated to me. I came on here to comment on the new live box set.

Oh never mind then, not every idea is a good idea.

@Chris w

Were the shows chosen at random which were recorded for OTN or was it decided by Mark ? And which shows were allowed for a radio or tv broadcast ?

Nothing is random at this level.
I'm sure you have to book the film crews, recording gear etc well in advance. You also want to choose a nice venue to play in (Nimes) and know both band and audience are going to be on fire.
The only show I remember being for broadcast was Basel. There may have been others I have forgotten.

@Chris W: Do you remember any songs that were rehearsed for the OES tour, but never actually performed?

Completely coincidental I came across information today from the Christie's website: "According to tech tour notes, the Gibson Super 400 (YLT live guitar) was also assigned to the songs ‘Twisting By The Pool’ and Brownie McGhee’s ‘Rainy Rainy Day’, in readiness for their potential addition to the set list."
"...and I blew up the radio in pretty short order."

tbh I thought they both sounded strange choices myself but it was there in black and white.  I think there are bound to be a few inaccuracies.

The first time I met Paul was a Friday afternoon jam session, which turned out to be an informal audition.
The whole thing was a blur. After he left I realised I hadn't taken any of it in. I hoped it wasn't going to be a one off, so I could enjoy it the next time. Luckily they called me again.

The only downer DS gig I think was the final show in Zaragoza. We flew in from Barcelona. I used to like to walk around a city before we played, get the vibe. I also found all the flying quite exhausting. The weather wasn't great (iirc), cool and grey. After the show we were bundled into a car and driven back to the airport to fly back to Barcelona. No party, no thanks, no hanging out with the crew to say goodbye after a very hard and long experience.
Best memories? Usually any spectacular venue in a very nice location - so probably Nimes and Verona.

Yes, Denmark more precise at Gentofte Stadium, it was broadcasted live to radio.  ;)

Woburn Abbey for radio as well, Radio 1 made a big deal out of it at the time.
