No, the text of the advertizing says it's going to be the current released version.

As far as I was aware On The Night came from Nimes and Rotterdam. I was not aware that the Paris show had been recorded (I forgot), but this also makes sense as Neil Dorfsman came out before Nimes and they probably recorded Paris as a dry run to test the results before the Nimes shows.

In the documentary from Canal Plus France, 24 heures, about the concerts in Paris it can be seen the mobile recording while they record:

https://youtu.be/K83cqmlN4gI?si=t_5l38g04MM5exgM&t=2344

Those images starts at 39.06

Also I remember reading in a Tour Itinerary that Paris shows were marked as shows being recorded.

Here (at 46.52) you can see John Illsley just after the concert in a car, I guess that with his son, talking about the show being recorded and also makes a comment about the drums.

It seems that none of the new tracks are from Paris, whereas Paris is advertised in the notes (yet another mistake).

It seems that they intended to use Paris at first, but then only realized that the tapes got currupted, without updating the notes.

Since PONO and Iron Hand were spread at the beginning and at the end of Paris residency, it would find it hard to believe that only some of the recordings were lost - we would have at least one PONO! They must have been lost in totality. A real pity...

The comment about 'nervousness on the drums' was 110% bollocks.
And this goes back to my earlier post where I remember being mystified that John asked me if I was nervous playing Madison Square Garden (no I wasn't), when 18months earlier I had played two shows at the much, much bigger Giants Stadium outside New York.
I think when people can't put their finger on any specific issue they start talking about 'the drums' because it's unquantifiable, unmeasurable.

@vape68/markforever

I think you are way too harsh now on Guy's forum... maybe you should give him a break... It's getting really cringe and awkward.. I'm feeling for you btw, that you are so critical and disappointed and can't enjoy these beautiful OTN tracks.

Let it go and try to enjoy...

It makes sense to match the live album recording with the On The Night video. You wouldn't work hard to make the live album audio as perfect as possible, then have to do it all over again for the live DVD. You'd take the album audio and match it as close as possible to the filmed venue.

Lolz. As a middle aged male nerd I've been on forums about music and films for half my life where people criticise the performers (and yes, I've been critical myself, no doubt unfairly on occasion).

This is he first time I've ever seen a performer come back and stand their ground, good for you Chris!

Well a lot of stuff was repaired when they mixed On The Night - except the drums.
I know the Basel show (direct broadcast) is a loved video by many.
John is ill advised criticising anyone in the band on camera, especially when he repeats multiple times "great show".
This sort of illustrates why the band had multiple sidemen over the years. You bust a gut to enable what many perceive as a peerless live show, then get picked on in an off the cuff remark afterwards.

I always got the feeling that John was never very enthusiatic about you joining in for the tour, for some reason. I remember watching him talking about it on the MTV Special 1991 and he just shrugs his shoulders and says "OK, he's on board".

Again, it's nonsense.
They could pick anyone from the UK drumming community.
They were disappointed that neither Porcaro or Katche agreed to do the tour.
I actually turned down the DS gig three times because I left McCartney to concentrate on studio work, but they kept chasing me.
You cannot go on a multi-million dollar tour for 14 months with a drummer you don't want to play with.
The actual tour was cancelled by 6 months due to the first gulf war, so they had time then to audition other drummers and find someone they preferred to me.
THEY DIDN'T!!!
