I did not notice these LOG gig posters before but in my memory I spotted poster for Eurythmics.
When quickly checking yesterday I did not see those for Eurythmics.

Did I understood correctly?
David seems to focus only on the writting credits he will get paid for What’s The Matter Baby that is on 2 records
What about the royalties he will get as a performer on 28 tracks out of the 64 ?

It goes back to the days of sheet music but songwriting publishing has always been where the significant money is in music.

David Knopfler published some comments on his Patreon regarding the SOS uploaded from Rainbow 79:

Live at the Rainbow 1979

This sounds a bit like the fake pre CBS Fender Strat Mark played for a few months before it was revealed to be a fake -

I would imagine with two keyboard players added in 1981 things got a lot meatier

Does he think that the guitar Mark used at this show was his Fender with a maple neck, which was later discovered to not be an authentic American Fender? I don't know if that's what he mentioned, judging by the sound, but it is known that Mark used his Fender with neck in Rosewood for this last show, we have the video of SOS at the BBC Arena that reveals this.
Let's go down to the waterline!

GF:

Obviously the label initiated the project, with the ultimate blessing of Mark and John. I’m unsure about the multitracks

What about David and Pick's blessing? :)

Thank you for the important question jbaent :)

Dire Straits Ltd is Mark and John.

Also Dire Straits Overseas.

Actually anything DS related are MK and John, since End Bicknell quit from all the companies.

You are right about the matter.

Still, John Illsley became multi millionnaire within Dire Straits without writing one word for them. :think
Guy has made his comfortable living by working for Mark also without writing one single word.

Because John is co-owner of all DS companies together with MK, all income that the DS trademark makes, goes to them, except songwriting money that goes just to MK.

It's just irony, he really doesn't care much about it.

I don't really know how the royalty system works, but many years ago (pre-2000), I corresponded with David a little by email.  He said something to the effect that Ed (whom David referred to as "The Dildo") was somehow screwing him out of the royalties he deserved.  I recall something about other miscellaneous deductions that were made by Mark's accountants that ate up everything David would have received.  He seemed pretty upset about it at the time.

Interesting how this box is presented in chronological recording disorder

Alchemy
On The Night
Encores
Live At The BBC
Live At The Rainbow

So the day the box will arrive, I guess I will listen to On The Night bonuses first.
This is really what is the most attractive thing for me.

And probably followed by the full Live At The Rainbow concert.

And I will end by the Alchemy bonuses.

And you?
