I don't think that wait until listening to it is going to change the fact that Portobello is cut.

Actually when we realise the butchering listen to it, it's not going to be better at all, the contrary.

Still speaking of PB, I ask those who are more expert than me.
I've always known and heard the evening of the 23rd... has anyone ever heard the complete version of the 22nd? I would be curious to listen to the performance...since the choice to cut it is based on this, perhaps in the end the error is very evident and does not pass the quality test for a publication....although he could have used the evening of the 23rd

The whole Hammersmith 22nd it's in YouTube...

https://youtu.be/fH7pDVoIsAg?si=od6MA4aUKThLb-1f

I wonder why he used Industrial from the 23rd but Twisting and Portobello from the 22nd... reading his comments in his forum he didn't knew that the source for Alchemy was the 23rd.

Maybe i'm in the minority but one of my favourite DS songs of all time is "It Never Rains." Astonishing song. Lyrics are fantastic and it's Knopfler at his best painting a picture, the organ is beautiful and the mood change is exhilarating. Great guitars, Hal Lindes more prominant towards the end with what sounds like a guitar/synth sound, great keyboards and synths from Clark and a fantastic guitar solo... with some superb and quite rare wah wah work from Knopfler. Almost Michael Schenker-esque. I know there are some versions of this song that exist live as some of you kindly posted links to it throughout the years. A shame however it wasn't played a lot more live at concerts and a proper recording of it was made.

Best Wishes.

Not at all alone, I think most DS fanatics would put this up there with the best. I personally love it and wish their was a good live version of it.

LIVE AT THE RAINBOW

It will be a beautiful concert. A very good decision, the last concert of Communique tour. The last time with the original lineup. Historic concert. And Phil Lynott.

I like Thin Lizzy and it's a bit of a disappointment that they didn't play any Lizzy or solo Lynnot song that MK and Phil recorded together but it would be great to have with perfect sound and well mixed that legendary live collaboration!

I would would be curious to listen a sbd live take of It Never Rain.
The studio album is outstanding as can be PONO. But from what I heard from live audience tape, INR did not develop as much as PONO did.
It was more played as a copy paste of the studio version as Mark did with Are We In Trouble Now.

Looks like Portobello is again cut  :disbelief
Jbaent, could you post the duration of other songs?
-TOL from Alchemy
-TOL from OTN
-MFN and WOL from OTN

Just to see how much editing was done on these songs? The last 2 were edited on the original OTN... And TOL from OTN might be edited as it has normally and intro and some band intro

Many thanks in advance

Many thanks jbaent! Much appreciated.

I had tried to find the durations by myself before bothering you, but I only have a YouTube music account, which only shows the 3 released tracks.

There are good news and bad news:

-Good news is, TOL from OTN seems to be complete, with intro and band introductions. The duration is similar to Rotterdam 30/05/1992, even 18 seconds longer, so a bit of clapping before and after.

-Bad news is, 1) TOL from Alchemy seems butchered, with this length either Mel's sax intro or Mark's speech about the Spanish city is cut. No way to have both... and 2) MFN and WOL are more or less the same length than the original, so the opportunity to restore MFN intro and end drum solo is lost too!
