The length of 7.22 is pretty consistent with "the extended intro" description. On Paris bootleg, taking 7.22 from the beginning ends up pretty much where the cut versions end...

So, say farewell to the tasty licks exchanges between Mark and Mel, and the band intro? 😭 Guy, what were you thinking exactly??

Looks like they only added the intro, damm

Can you upload all the lengths from Alchemy, please?

I checked myself, tunnel has the usual length and Portobello is too short, and says it has a extended intro so, it's the one from MFN compilation with the end cut, but with the intro.

They always find a way to spoil good things.

TOL is 33 seconds shorter than on the original album. This corresponds to the outro of Portobello Belle, that you have on the album but not in the film. Which would tend to prouve that Guy used the excellent 2010 source...?

Now I'm getting anxious for other things. Do you have the length for TOL 92? maybe the band intros were cut as well...

nooooo! :disbelief Could it be that he cut a bit of the long introduction (band presentation, etc.) in order to get to the final coda?
my hope

No way. The band intro is rather at the end and doesn't take that long. Even without the intro, 7'22 would not take you as far as the coda. This is what we already have + longer intro, period. A wasted opportunity...

No

Portobello with the intro, cut exactly at the same place than in the MFN compilation match with that length so, there is no band intro, there is no guitar and sax solos duel...

I wonder how in heaven is possible they never do something well, totally well.

Looking at the tracks running time, it's a disappointment. Several songs have a shorter running time than the original release.

For TOL, that's also means that even though they use the 2010 master, they still cut Mark's speech about the Spanish city. They could have taken everything that is on the film, and complete it with the missing parts that are on the album: the longer R&J intro, the "Thank you" before Sultans, etc...

For God sake, we want everything there is, from the first nanosecond to the last. Is it that difficult to understand?

You're no right, 2010 mix has the Spanish city speech. All TOL intro is on Two Young Lovers chapter.

I can not believe it!!
after so much enthusiasm the first BIG disappointment.
I've been waiting my whole life for the full version of Portobello Belle,
I don't understand what the reason for the cut is.
Opportunity missed forever!!

Yes, the 2010 mix has indeed the Spanish city speech on the film, I never said otherwise. What I mean is, given the length of the new audio track, the speech is cut from it, even though the source is 2010.

And although yes, the Blu Ray stupidly puts TOL intro in the Two Young Lovers track, this is obviously not the case in this new audio release: TWL is a short as on the original album, and you have PB in between!

Listening to 2010 SOS and then 2022 PB they sound very similar to stay together.
2010 version is too compressed, but it is not mix issue, it is mastering issue, they can balance it.

Maybe both alchemy nights were remixed "definitively" in 2010 and Guy take it from vault first to MFN 2022 compilation and now for this?
Normal procedure is to get all recordings well mixed and saved, then cut or made edits for different uses.

EDIT: Guy mixed 2010 version? Or Chuck?

The guitar and sax duel was probably not recorded when you ask Guy ::)

What a dissapointment... We asked him last year... its all about the last part... sigh
