But no one forced him. He wanted this tour, he loved it.
No, he didn't. How many more times do you need Chris and other band personnel to tell you that he was angry and bored 90% of the time? And even if you don't believe them, just listen to any interview of him in 91/92 or observe his behaviour during the 24 heures documentary or at all any concert from that time.
He did the tour only to escape his personal problems (failing marriage, divorce and his father's disease) and as a final cash grab.

I didn't say I didn't believe Chris. I'm trying to understand. We can talk this on the forum, right?

As above.
Only he (and maybe John) knows, but my feeling is he wanted to make sure the other guys in the band were financially OK.
He made the OES album, and it was traditional at the time to tour significantly to promote the album. Once the rehearsals started and the enormity of playing two hour shows for over a year dawned on him, I think he massively regretted the decision and as a result was very grumpy to say the least for the next 14 months.
PS: It's funny how people who weren't there claim to know he 'loved it'.

Of course, my friend. I just don't understand how you can say he loved that tour when it's so obvious that he didn't.

I think we need to bear in mind the emotional impact of a 2nd divorce. Not to get to personal but my divorce left me a wreck, it shattered me. I cant imagine failing for a 2nd time.

Doesn't excuse the apparent behaviour its just one of the many reasons......

Chris, I meant that Mark always loved concerts. Sorry I didn't write it precisely.

Well, imagine the economic impact. Mark's alimony bill given his millionaire status had to be absolutely brutal.

Agreed, my divorce was absolutely the worst thing I've ever gone through.

In any case, the most shocking revelation is that MK apparently said that My Parties was his favourite song?! It's awful! When did he say that?

Nah I think you misunderstood, the first line ("My favourite song is My Parties, from On Every Street.") is said by the interviewer not Mark!

I once wrote down for myself.
Concerts recorded apart from On The Night

June 5, 1992 Earls Court London
June 20, 1992 Woburn Abbey Bedfordshire
June 28, 1992 Fussballstadion St. Jakob Basel (filmed concert)
July 27, 1992 Gentofte Stadium Copenhagen
July 30, 1992 Vallehovin Stadium Oslo
September 29, 1992 Les Arenes Nimes (filmed concert)

19th of September (Cava de' Tirreni Stadio Comunale, Italy) seems to be a soundboard recording as well. I do have it on CD as part of a non official CD box. It’s an incomplete recording though.

coming back to the original topic, not sure if you ever shared it on any of these 22 pages of DS box discussion, but now that you received the box, what do YOU think of it?

I've listened to it once.
I experienced it 300+ times in real life, I don't need much of a recap.
now that is where you are wrong, the box is of course about more than just the OTN show, there is the brilliant Rainbow show and the complete Alchemy performance..
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

I’m sure this has been answered many times before but I have a bit of a gap in my years following MK

I had a bootleg sometime ago that was a monitors/desk recording that was very dry (no:
/little audience noise)

The location was always incorrect or “unknown”

Has this ever been solved? From reading earlier in the thread it seems it’s Oslo? Is that correct?

How was the mystery solved?? Very curious about an old mystery!

I think Chris was never a DS fan, so probably his only interest would be the cd where he is playing it.

The only Cava de Tirreno known recording is a poor audience recording, so or you are confusing a soundbard recording (probably Copenhagen or Woburn Abbey) or you have an unique and unknown version recording of that show.
