Hmm, could be quite a short "talk" I guess.

On the other hand, maybe MK would relish the chance to play Local Hero at St James' Park, I guess we'll see.

Notice as Mark Knopfler is still heavily associated with Dire Straits whereas in the same article Sting is not associated with Police.

Not surprising at all. Everybody knows who Sting is, in any part of the world. Who's Mark Knopfler not everybody knows even within the UK :lol

Did they not record a song together last year? Perhaps Going Home is possible? It would be something, when was the last time MK played live?

Mark said no so Sam did a cover of Local Hero.
Brian Johnson was there for a AC/DC song...

That's telling that he said no, especially with old pal Brian Johnson there too.  I think we can pretty much rule out any more live performances, if we haven't done so already.

Do we know that he "said no"? Was he invited?

Exactly. I don’t trust quotes from “A source” in the sun newspaper… plus the only thing that did happen was the AC/DC stuff.

Sam Fender has opened his last few gigs in Newcastle by having his horn section play over the Local Hero - Going Home track, so it’s nothing new really.
