It seems Guy has said (to a friend in private) David Gilmour was in Brithish Grove yesterday.

It might be a different black strat, I'm sure DG has quite a few.

Hopefully it is recent and will (even partly) end the health discussion which is, of course, allowed, yet (some might find) uncomfortable to cringe occasionally.
It's very easy to start rumors and usually there is nothing beneficial from that to all parties.

But that's actually the problem of the lack of connection between MK and fans. Today people assume they can just type *celebrity name* in any social media and get updates instantly, but with Mark, it doesn't work that way since he's old-school and is absent on social media anyway. So all fans can do is merely speculate on anything, from recordings to health. Luckily, people like Guy Fletcher shed some light on his work, without Guy fans would be in total darkness.

I wish there was a like-button, then I would like your post quizzaciously  :thumbsup More, I wish Mark read it. We have no "right" to speculate, but we are concerned. I too found the post from John sweet but a bit strange. Well lets wait for more good news now  :)

I agree with that MK isn't the conventional celebrity (if such exists), disagree about Guy, but never mind.
Eric Clapton chose announcing his hearing loss. MK might be different. I *respect* MK preference and have no concrete info to judge his decisions (not to mention that it's non of my business).

In how to treat your fans, as someone who followed (and sometimes met) both - MK is 10 times friendlier, charming and kind to his fans.
(BTW, DG is a truly lovely character, yet he decided to limit his interaction with fans to close to zero. one a scale from 1 to 10, if DG is 1 than MK is 10, at least)

Isn't it possible to be concerned and care, and respect someone at the same time?! Never mind.. And none of us have clamed that Mark isn't friendly.

Looks like a competition stripe on that Strat? Could be a reflection.

I can perfectly understand where Mark is coming from in that regard. A lot of celebrities have the same approach... From the top of my head, I know Brad Pitt is completely absent from any social media. James Cameron once said something like social media is a bunch of monkeys picking lice from other monkeys. For this phrase alone I hated Cameron for a long time, but he turned out to be a very friendly and down-to-earth guy, and the funniest thing is that he finally acknowledged social media and is now available, though extremely rare, but he tweeted from the Challenger Deep literally from the bottom of the ocean and joined Instagram with a video statement. So people do change sometimes ;D

Not Mark's case, though, simply because I can't even imagine him on social media engaging with somebody, not even something like Reddit's AMA thing. No autocomplete interviews, no cameos, no nothing, and that deserves some respect actually. You sort of assume he has better things to do, and that's probably true.

I talked to a lot of people who've met MK, and obviously, he's a true gentleman and a hero, he loves his fans, just not the "conventional way" as you've said.

Oh, how I wish these two would collaborate on at least a track. They are both working on new albums, so one can only dream!  :)
