Another toy guitar for the bargain price of £247.50.

Absolute fucking tat.
so it’s not on your Christmas list then. I was more interested in the BIA tour recordings.

Remains to be seen what recordings they are... even if they are new, £250 is a piss take.

£247!  I thought that was a joke when I opened this thread.

Would love to hear the recordings but not sure thay they understand the priority for most people is paying the heating bill and buying food at the moment.

Cynical extortion if I am being harsh.

Seems like MK is perfectly fine with exhuming old relics and returning to the past, just as long as the fans have the wallets for it.

Whatever the recording is we probably already have it in some form, however I would like it to go on record that this is much appreciated and more in line with what I've been expecting - much better than recycling official albums over and over.  However, I can't justify forking out this sort of money.

Releasing unreleased live recordings - appreciated.

Releasing them in MP3 format - not appreciated.

Bundling them with over priced tat - really not appreciated.

I wonder if the "BIA tour live recording" is an error or not... :think

I can't believe that they would issue such gem that way.

I'm really encouraged that at face value archive material is being released.

I'd be keen to understand who has been involved in the process of identifying the masters and working with them; wonder if Guy has been involved. Before that it would just be helpful to know what songs and performances we are talking about.

These tour recordings though must have more value and release appeal than as part of an overpriced fairground arcade novelty set.

They can make this right by releasing the files for download for a reasonable fee.  Until then this remains a bad joke.

Really?! Just about everything this organisation does is crazy these days! The last thing they put out made it all the way to physical copies of an album being sold that contained the ending of a recording that was never meant to be heard by the public!

This wasn't done by MK.

Just approved but it's not it's idea but from the people who run the fan community site, the official sites of MK and DS.
You might get lucky, now and then

Exactly as I wrote a few messages before.
It has nothing to with MK and honestly I never felt that MK’s decisions are based on money.
It was never his main driver. PC management and all surroundings - that’s a totally different story.

Mark has the power of vetoing any unpublished live recording made by Dire Straits.

Mark has the power of vetoing any unpublished live recording made by Dire Straits.

He has the power to veto anything being sold in his name on his website, so we know he is happy with the £250 toy guitars.
