Legal or not, there was a lot of trading back in 2005.    Passalong/Crowfly was not available in Europe.    Go figure.     Collectors got those recordings somehow.    But I know nothing.   Nothing! ;D

IrisRose, Do you mean it wasn't available on the continent of Europe, because I have two of the Crowfly concerts and I am in UK.   :)

I must have meant that, Val.   I was trading with a couple of friends in Italy at the time, and they could not get it.

To begin with they were not available in Europe, just one of the many "teething troubles" that seem to follow MK around when he tries to do something like this (see also Early Bird and Time In The Sun).

The Crowfly recordings have been released on European market somewhere in October 2005 or something like that.

That explain that some non US MK fan did manage to get them others way since it started to be release in USA in July.
(like opening a paypal account with a US address)

Almost nothing that was planned was done : Mark asked for no DRM, from the nashville gig and on recording made available 24 hours after the show took place, all US date released...

This was a first try and even if it could have been made better I am happy that some show were issued.

Agreed. Unfortunately, as usual, some people went WAY over the top with their critiscsm and MK probably said "Not worth the hassle again."

I remember one person, on MK News or T-Road, somewhere anyway saying "Charging for 128kpbs! They are stealing from us!"  ::)

Do you really believe it? If so, the Deluxe Edition of GL would never be released  ;D

If MK was hurt I don't think it was because of the fans criticism but by the result first. I don't know how deep Mark was actively involved, I think that the fact Chuck Ainly was part of the story is important in Mark having his go. Guy himself agreed on his forum that things were not done the right way (beginning by Mac user being excluded)  which in Guy's very diplomatic terms can be easily translated to like "they f*cked it".

I agree that the whole affair was badly managed, as (unfortunately!) often happens with the MK management.
Anyway, instead of many (14?) online releases I would have appreciated more a physical Double CD. But maybe I'm out of time  ;D
But, of course, I'm still glad that these recordings have been made available.

I made the point at the time, and it's the same with the current extra track business, it's better to offer constructive criticsm. Instead of saying "Oh my god, you are thieves, these downloads are fucking shit blah blah blah" say "Thanks for the downloads, next time could we perhaps have them in xxx format..."

But people are too quick to complain about everything...

If we can contact Chuck Ainlay dirtly we could ask him about it.

Like "any hope that the 2005 recordings see the lights again" ?

Maybe it is because when everybody makes everything as much complicated as possible, leaving out as much people as they can with country restrictions, etc etc, anything turns into something to complain about...

I was quite happy to have that downloads, my only complain was not having every show and having them in 128 kbps mp3, but it wasn
