Knopfler Live Boston 2005

Just got hold of this live concert from Boston 2005..... has anyone else listened to it recently and what are your thoughts because it's a freakin' awesome soundboard concert.
So much energy and amazing versions on Sultans and Money!!!!!!!!

Nah definitely not Crowfly cos where I got if from they only do NON Official material!!!!!!

Anyway it's very very good!

mmm....I don't know of another SB recording of this concert than the Crowfly one. Maybe the "site" you downloaded it from wasn't aware of the Crowfly recording.
BTW, even if it is another SB source, to share it is ILLEGAL (when an official recording exists)

but yes, all these crowfly shows are really lossy, and not lossless. as long as you mark them as that, i see no problem.

not sure. e.g. John Illsley Album "Never told a soul" wasn't available anymore (before the reissue), but you couldn't upload it on Dime

that version is awesome, all shows from october, nov. 1985 were super, imho that was dire straits at it's very best...

Totally agree with you there.  Berlin ToL was my favourite from that period.  Pity it was missing the beginning on the bootleg.  Typical!

don't worry, we talk just to make philosophy  
with tons of sites spreading illegal stuff I don't believe someone could be interested in hitting this one for a semi-official release

Had a brief look at that site. Don't know this guy, but he says he's a MK fan, and NO official material is posted on his website, but obviously there's A LOT of official stuff online (the Crowfly recordings, the bootleg called 'Guitar dreams'...) so this guy should be careful on what he said about his website...

Yes. And at T.U.B.E. (The Ultimate Bootleg Experience) there are some other Crowfly shows, Nashville, Brighton and Florence. So they DO offer those
shows. The question is if it would still be illegal to download it there now that they are not available anymore.

I think this is not legal to share it as this is not on public domain and there are still commercial rights on it even if it is currently commercially not available.

The question is a bit complicated because if Passalong was the seller it is not certain that they do have the copyright right over theses recordings as Crowfly (co-founded by Chuck Ainlay) was the society who produced the recordings and seems to be still running.  So maybe we can hope to see them rereleased in the future, and this time lossless and DRM free. After all we had to wait 2009 to le able to legally get a copy of SGT Pepper MONO on CD.

But if on the contrary there are not plan to make these recording commercially available again we can assume that then it should not be a big deal that the MK fan share them for free between them (but not directly here of course).
