Seriously, despite the blues songs, I think Privateering is much much better than Tracker, which I think it's a pretty boring record.

Can't believe you!

Oooh Tracker boring? Are you having a laugh? (And jokes and drinks and smokes!)🤣🤣

It's one of my four favourite albums!   :)

Tracker is awesome! Soooooo good!!!

It's a shame that Privateering will go, but that's democracy. It's an album that took a while for me to really enjoy, but now I play it quite often.

It's a shame that KTGC has gone as a lot feel that was better than Privateering but like you say that's democracy....it is after all only a poll :wave

Funnily enough I dug out my original KTGC Vinyl copy this evening and my wife and I listened very happily to it - amazing album!

No, it's full of long songs with long ends in which nothing interesting happens, just repeat and repeat of the same melody without any interesting guitar solo or anything at all but repeat and repeat.

Laughs and jokes , Basil, Silver eagle and Wherever I go are the only songs I like for this record. The rest is so boring that doesn't worth to be played for me.

But Privateering is so varied, full of nice songs of all styles, even the blues songs have something.

Tracker is a 4/10 for me, Privateering is a 8/10.

I also like it very much, only if it had proper guitar by Mk instead of so many twang...

Twang? - I guess you are meaning MKs Hank/Shadows influence which in my eyes is proper guitar!

I like the twangy songs.  They remind me of the 50s when I was a teenager, particularly "We Can Get Wild" and "Punish The Monkey".  The lyrics on "We Can Get Wild" are pure 50s - Billy Fury, Bert Weedon's "Play in a Day", the DA haircut, drainpipe pants, for example.  I love that album for all kinds of reasons and I'm sorry it was eliminated so soon.

Yes, I like them too, actually I like those songs far more than Tracker in general, the twangy songs doesn't bother me much as the songs are really good, I think they would be better with classic MK guitar style, but those songs were demanding that sound. It's one of the MK records I play the most.

Tracker is another album that I listen to all the way through, including the bonus songs.   I just love the feeling that I'm on a journey  with MK.   Tracker is one of my four favourites.   ;)    Privateering has lots of very good songs too, including the blues songs, particularly  Kim Wilson's harmonica, but Privateering doesn't flow and that is one of the reasons it isn't amongst my favourites.

Indeed, its that 'being on a journey' when listening to any of the MK solo albums - love it!

The decition was quite hard for me, but I voted for Privateering.
Yes, it's a shame, a very nice album, many beautiful songs – Redbud, Haul Away, Submariner, Kingdom and so many more -, but all of the blues songs are skippers for me. So it had to go. Now I feel bad..... :(
