Two Skinny Kids
Are we in trouble now
Tunnel of Love

I'm sure he can make those last 2 songs sounds great on acoustic as well  ;D

Otherwise

Dream of the drowned submariner
Silver Eagle
Devil Baby

Romeo just for you would be awesome too... Hard to choose only 3

'Restless Farewell' has perfect singing from MK. The older he gets, the better his voice gets (at least in the studio, I'll not talk about live vocals).

Restless Farewell is one of my favourite songs sung by MK, even though it is a BD song.    I did put it on my list, but changed it for Marbletown (solo version).  When I listen to it, once isn't enough, it has to be twice or three times or more!   :lol

I don't think that our current Mark will be able to go through Marbletown solo, unfortunately. He can with the band, but performing it solo requires some elbow grease. So I'd suggest sticking with 'Restless Farewell' to save him :lol

I'd say:

Play three songs that you never recorded or never released by whatever reason, the three ones that you prefer.

THIS!  :lol  :wave
And she's sitting in her Lusso, in the early morning sun.

I know it is a long time ago, but he did play Marbletown solo on Ragpickers, so maybe he still can, hopefully?    Restless Farewell would be wonderful though!   :)

Piper to the end
Occupation Blues
Dream of the drowned submariner
* Mark Knopfler - NOT just a hobby, but a way of life!

* Owner of Two Fender 'Mark Knopfler' Signature Series Stratocaster's (SE00616 & SE03805) both with signed Fender labels after meeting MK at Bridport, Dorset UK on the 27/09/2013!

First I would make a good cup of tea and then he should play

Our Shangri-La
Quality Shoe
Sailing To Philadelphia

If he would ask for another tea he should play

Privateering
Haul Away
When It Comes To You

and so on and so on....... ;)
This is all the heaven we've got, right here where we are in our Shangri-La.

I'm a six foot three albion but you can adjust the seat

I'd ask him to play outside on the steps and record the whole thing for bootleg purposes on my video doorbell!  ;D

Knopfler, the ring sessions.....

Maybe it's a good idea for another topic. What would I ask MK :)
I know the way I can see by the moonlight
Clear as the day
Now come on woman, come follow me home

I'd say: "Sorry, I don't give money, but I can make you some food. How about a bacon roll?"
