Why Sailing To Philadelphia from PI compilation? Is it longer too? I have to check because I may have forgotten about it

STP is indeed longer, Darling Pretty too btw, still the best sounding version so far (the one on PI compilation).

I have both of these but I never listen to them.
So I would exchange these 2 for a longer fade out on "Are We In Trouble Now"

Late to the party, I know, but today my Vinyl Studio Album Box 1996-2007 arrived and I am deep into listening to the records and I am utterly enthusiastic about them, especially Golden Heart and Sailing To Philaphelphia are an absolute joy and pleasure to listen to. I read a lot about the bad pressing quality, about scratches on the second side of STP, about an annoying strange sound on Baloney Again, about the Czech Company being bad and and and. So I feared I would be disappointed or so. The Box arrived in new, sealed, perfect package, but the first three albums all had damaged corners (all the same corner) but the box iteself was totally ok. The vinyls also were, thank god.

Maybe it is because I haven't listened to MK for nearly 2 1/2 years now, the first two albums sound SO fresh, so energetic and so crisp. Really great to have them on vinyl. It is a huge improvement.
My old player was getting worse and I finally decided to buy a new player last week and it turns out it was the best thing I could do. Lots of vinyl was spinned the last few days.

Btw, I love the detail they chose for the labels. STP labels especially nice. The icing of the could now really would have been if the first albums also have had made new gatefold covers, but as it was said earlier in this thread, that had meant to create new artwork which was probably to much to ask for.

The second Box by the way has annoying tight sleeves, much worse than the first Box. I imagined Guy or Mark himself fiddling around with trying to get those Privateering records back in the sleeve and imagined an ice cold Mk stare... But apart from that, both Boxes were really a good choice. Both have a Bonus disc which is nice to have.

A song like Wanderlust (with that tremolo from Richard, same as on Who's Your Baby Now) really seems to be made for playing on vinyl. Funny that back in those days around 2000/2001 vinyl was literally dead.

2026 will have 25 years STP. Maybe we will get something nice. Imagine the release politics back then would have been the same and we would have got a STP Deluxe Set.

A little voice in me keeps telling me though that the bigger the box, the poorer the music inside. So maybe it's all good as it is and was.

On Why Aye Man I really can hear the SINGLE background voices on the chorus and differentiate them much better. Acoustics really sound like they are played right before me.

Being three weeks in the US in a rented studio seemed to suit MK's music much better than hanging around at BG for years with Guy alone and .... smell tape..

That's quite funny. I meet quite a few MK&DS fans now and then and always get astonished by their determination to this music, their knowledge of all the lyrics and generally the ability to listen to it every day, all the time. It seems like I'm a get-a-lifer, but in reality, I barely listen to Mark's music, though I listened to it quite a lot when I was a kid, but still, in the big picture it was just another music I loved. But the fact that I spent an unhealthy amount of time listening to all sorts of music and still regard Mark as one of the best is a testament to his amazing songwriting and work ethic I think. I can't help but return to this music simply because it's great.

I have the same. I listen to a lot of music, very diverse, but I always come back to DS/MK with the same pleasure every day. There's something about MK's music! I can't name it.
