There are comments on Steve Hoffmann and measurements, the new CDs appear to be heavily compressed/brickwalled if that bothers you.

My box just got in, first impressions:

- Stunning high and low frequencies, and indeed, harder compression/limiting
- Great work on the GH/STP artwork, quite amazing that all files/photos were still there
- Golden Heart sounds really fresh but I have to get used to the 'new' STP sound
- The Ragpicker's Dream always sounded dull to my ears, sadly it's not much better now
- Shangri-La always sounded superb, now it sounds even better, like you're in the room, it's amazing
- KTGC always has been one of my favorite mixes of all records in the world, but I don't think the increased compression works here
- Great packaging but a small note from MK or some kind of introduction would have been nice
- Credits for Gravy Train (the song) are partly missing

It says that "My claim to fame" were recorded by Bennett, Cromwell, Worf, Cox and Guy... as far as we knew, by a magazine interview, this is the track were Paul Carrack, Bobby Irwin, Nick Lowe and others played...

Maybe MK recorded that song twice?... As far as I know this song was recorded for the Swan hunter documentary, which was recorded in 1993 and broadcasted in January 1994

"Gravy Train" credits are also wrong, as there is no mention to any drummer!

It is mentioned in a record collector magazine in 1994. Jim Cox didn't played in any single song in GH, and appears as playing in My Claim to Fame, recorded in 1993?

I’ll check on that, you could have a point. There is an ever present danger with releasing recordings from the distant past as documentation isn’t always readily available (we are working on that) and memories don’t always serve well.

I could be wrong but I think there could just be something interesting on the horizon, reading into recent things Guy has said, the answer to your question contains "we are working on that" working on what? why would they be looking at old documentation? about who played on what!!

He seems to be drooping very subtle hints, we have now had 2 sets of vinyl releases, so they are in the mood for MK releases it seems.

I like reading such considerations. My thinking becomes very positive. I miss new MK music very much.
