I personally appreciate the several efforts that have been taken to release new versions and remasters of both DS and MK. The shared links in this forum about the process for remastering Brothers in Arms and Local Hero give evidence that a great cure has been taken in the reissue of these albums and I wouldn´t expect something different for the MK albums. I have already heard the remastered versions of Darling Pretty, Gravy Train and My Claim To Fame in Spotify and could certainly tell the difference between the original versions. My first impression was: "Wait a minute this is not what I´ve heard in the past..." After a couple of listens, I found the track´s sound clearer and pristine, specifically in the midrange. Certainly there are plenty of details that will reveal in future listens and hopefully other forum members will chime in with their appreciations.

I have always wondered how, specifically, Golden Heart and Sailing would sound on vinyl. From what I heard in Spotify I can adventure that they will sound impressive.

Looking forward to hear all of these albums again,

I have already booked my dose of new vinyls, I expected more in terms of unreleased, but it is the same old story, I agree with those who over the years have seen the expectation of new reissues disappointed in all respects, care and attention could make a difference. In my opinion, over the years record companies and management have diminished the appeal that the Dire Straits brand had with effects also on the MK brand, in fact if you look around, names like Pink Floyd, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, to a few, they are always supported by promotional campaigns, in fact they continue to sell. with dire straits they came out with studio collection, vinyls ok but the cd box looks like a joke, I'm afraid to reopen it as it seems fragile and coarse. I always repeat the old story to myself, why not add unreleased live shows, demos? why not?

Because MK doesn't want to and he wants to keep it all "low profile". A man with many many issues.

I ordered the LP set on recordstore as I have awful experiences with MK.com. For those interested, I found a coupon code which gives you a 10% discount: RSSEZHEL10

https://www.recordstore.co.uk/recordstore/recordstore/The-Studio-Albums-1996-2007-Limited-Edition-11-LP-Boxset/72LO0000000

I've missed the Privateering box set, and I still have regrets so I won't be missing this one ;D

Any sign of a 2009-2018 collection yet?

Do we know if the album vinyls in the Box are presented in gatefold double sleeves or in single sleeves?
Thanks.

IMO Its not all his fault. Something happened with record companies when he wanted to continue his solo career at the time of STP. Strange things happened,  one among all is that Privateering was released one year later in america, absurd for one of his greatness....I think that record companies have put him on the sidelines since realized that Dire Straits would never come back...

That's true. The voice and guitar of dire straits. The last time this sticker appeared on the album The Ragpicker's Dream - it's the label's job.

Whoo, boy. Nothing like hearing again what you've heard many times before. Predictability and routine are highly underrated. People who don't appreciate boredom are missing out big time.

If I remember correctly Mark was not happy with this sticker.

Yes, I remember. Earlier (2000) he said in an interview that it was the label's decision. Mark didn't know about it and the album was already in stores.

if you consider that there have been box sets since 2009 (Get Lucky), I m not sure there will be a 2009-2018 collection

Well, I'm happy to have these albums on vinyl.

Me too!! I can’t wait to have GH & STP on vinyl! I absolutely love vinyl but find that MK/DS records are so hard to find!! Especially here in NZ! ;D
This release is so special and we all have to embrace it!

I expect Mark's next record to be his last and after that we will have a 2008-2022 or whenever Box with the new one included with hopefully some more vinyl  bonus stuff.
