A Life in Songs
« on: July 15, 2021, 02:48:43 PM »
I really like this documentary, but I don't understand why Love Over Gold or Golden Heart album was omitted. I always think about it.
I know the way I can see by the moonlight
Clear as the day
Now come on woman, come follow me home

Probably because it was a favourite album of one of Mark's relatives who passed away.

I wasn't thinking about Mark. Lector could say a few words. Love Over Gold album does not exist in this document.

I generally don't remember this documentary being about particular records, more like about MK's bio. Some parts would naturally be omitted, as you can't fit everything. I'm pretty sure you can find a million things that it won't cover, so I think it wasn't intentional.

You're right, it certainly wasn't intentional. But  DS story with the LOG album in this document would be complete for a novice fan, for example.

I watched this whole documentary a few days ago, Its still enjoyable to me, there are always things that are not included with the finished product, but doesn't mean Mark didn't talk about them, they just didn't make the edit, I hope that will all change with the Henrik Hansen film, some time this year I last heard :wave
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

Just watched it last night and it's always a pleasure to listen to Mark telling stories of his life. It's my favourite documentation of our man ever.
This is all the heaven we've got, right here where we are in our Shangri-La.

Is it available in full anywhere? Agree it’s superb but I lost my recording so haven’t seen it for years.
