The irony about the musical is that Mark has said in the past that he isn't a fan of musicals either. Mark must have written lots of songs in lockdown, so must be keen to make a new album, as there won't be any touring any time soon, he could make a new solo and and the Local Hero Musical album too.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

Do you think the CD could be with the cast singing or Mark? We actually got one song from Local Hero Musical, but from recordings I've heard, it gave me the impression that not every song could be done by MK.

The cd is going to be sung by the cast and the main actors. Once you see the Musical you understans it has to be like that.

Some have a male vocal, some a female and others are sung by the ensemble cast.  Even the male vocals couldn't be realistically sung by Mark with his "vocal limitations."

I hope that new restrictions on the UK doesn't affect to MK and Guy going back to the studio. I guess that is allowed to go out to work but I'm not sure if it's only allowed to what is called "essential" jobs, and if so, recording music would be considered as such... In my opinion, it should as any bussiness around music had suffered and would suffer even more because of the pandemic...

it wouldn't be allowed as its not regarded as essential either in terms of travel or work. Given our losses from Covid, especially those close to the knopfler circles heart I very much doubt that mark or guy would disrespect these rules.

As much as I`m longing for new music by Mark Knopfler & Co. I`d rather want them to stay at home to keep safe and healthy.
Better times will come - I`m sure - and in the meantime let`s enjoy all of his amazing music he has given us since 1978 until now.

Hope all is well with you, my AMIT-friends!  Take care and stay healthy. :wave

I guess it’s related to the live track which will be made available soon for MK.com members? Just saw a post on fb.

Ah, perhaps a live track from one of the already released concerts from last tour?

If that is the case...Positively 100% risk free. Very MK.
