It's undeniable that the addition of Roy Bittan was a great asset and gave a new sound and a new dimension to the band, it remains one of my top 3 albums of Dire Straits and David Fricke of Rolling Stone described it beautifully, it sounds like a movie that scrolls all along the listening:
“Making Movies the record on which Mark Knopfler comes out from behind his influences and Dire Straits come out from behind Mark Knopfler. The combination of the star’s lyrical script, his intense vocal performances and the band’s cutting-edge rock and roll soundtrack is breathtaking – everything the first two albums should have been but weren’t.
