Hmmm, i don't know if i liked this new Gilmour album.
For me, it has too many skippers.
And have that BG vibe that i don't like.

For me, the definitive DG album is On An Island.
THAT, my friends, is an album with capital A.
To me, Rattle That Lock has the same "formula" from his antecessor. In my opinion, a very weak album.

Most of my heroes, again, in my opinion, haven't been releasing albums that captives me.

Maybe I started to be more grumpy that I usualy am.

Had a first listen now through the whole album. I really like it. Classic Gilmour, but with a slightly different, fresher sound. No particular favorites at the moment, but his guitar playing is spectacular. So is his guitar tone. My oh my. The album is so punchy. Mark's ODR is so wimpy-sounding in comparison. The long jam at the end, though, felt unnecessary. Total filler which doesn't add anything, but rather distracts.

Good point about 'Luck and Strange' is that the guitars were recorded at Astoria.
I like Polly's lyrics. However, i tend to listen almost the same melodys intentions on every song.
When the dynamics went down, to me, is the 'same song'.
It was an artistc decision? I dunno.
Works for me? No.

DG's team seems to worked VERY HARD to make those 'flat sounding' drums, bass and some vocals recorded at British Grove.

Well, the album is not bad. It's just the opposite.
However, like MK's albums, they can be differents each other.
However, sound as the same.

I really like this album, I have only heard it once so far, but, there are some good songs, the opening instrumental has lovely piano. A highlight for me is the voice of Romany Gilmour. It may well be one of his best solo albums, it would have been interesting to hear how different it would have sounded had Guy produced it. I didn't hear any songs I didn't like.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

Oh, God, no. With all respect to Guy and his many talents, but he's just too smooth and pop oriented. DG's new album sounds perfect.

Did you listened to Vicente Amigo's "Tierra" produced by Guy Fletcher with MK's musicians? Take a listen to it and we talk again 😜

Well, the fact Guy talked to David about producing them album means that David likes what Guy does.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.
