David has been posting short video's on YouTube talking about his guitars and recording the new album, and it looks like all the video's are from British Grove Road Studios.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

Great news, I love this podcast, Gary and Guy make it in a way it looks like they are talking with old friends instead of interviewing someone, so it contribute to create a more relaxed situation.

By the way, the MK episode is on video in full:

isn't it a bit strange to be interviewed by a musician you're playing with ?  :think

They also interviewed Nick Mason, and the three play together in The Saucerful of Secrets.

I got David's album today, and who gets special thanks in the liner notes? Mark Knopfler.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

* Mark Knopfler - NOT just a hobby, but a way of life!

* Owner of Two Fender 'Mark Knopfler' Signature Series Stratocaster's (SE00616 & SE03805) both with signed Fender labels after meeting MK at Bridport, Dorset UK on the 27/09/2013!

Just watched this about the new album:

So creative! And he brought in a young producer. Exactly what Mark should have done.

Really? It's a nice album but I liked the previous two more.

I've been listening to this album most of the weekend and I really like it a lot.

If I had to choose my favourite song it would be "Scattered". I especially like the piano, played by Rob Gentry halfway through the song, which David describes as "off the wall" in the above video. ;D   It reminds me very much of the first few minutes of the 2nd Movement of Rachmaninov's PC #3  which sounds a bit like a cat running over the keyboard, but in a nice way, of course! :)
