How about a collection of all the singles and b-sides? Alternate takes?

Why don’t they release the solo albums on vinyl?

Lots of times, don't get me started on Tubular Bells!!! I have many many editions and variations of it.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

They'll have a hard enough job trying to flog this again at the best of times.

Mark is managed by shittiest management company I've ever seen. Holy crap.
It's what he wants, though.  :'(

This is more related to the record company than MK management.

Looks like there was also a repress planned of the box set on vinyl if this information is correct:

https://upcomingvinyl.com/record/dire-straits-studio-albums-1978-1991

Also some threads on the internet that this cd box set was due in 2018, via Rhino:

True, but the first statement is also correct as his contract must've included something like this.

A friend of mine sent me yesterday a mail telling me the following:

when you listen to Water of Love from the latest box, do you hear something "strange " at 1:54?

I never listened to the cds in the box as I thought it was exactly the same, but I played it just to hear what my friend was talking about, and I found some national steel sounds i never heard before, and that's repeated during all the song here and there.

Then I played Setting Me Up, and I found a lot of guitar sounds that I never noticed before!

I was curious and played Six blade knife, to again discover a lot of things, like percussion things I never ever noticed before, some strange vocals sounds like in minute 1:56.

I didn't have time to listen to the rest but I think I would do as soon as I can, as this mix really has something different. I wonder if the other cds have something new too.

Did any of you noticed that things?

I can't remember if this version in this box was remastered from the masters or what it is, but for me all these things were not present on Muff Winwood version of 1978.

What do you think?

I see all of you noticed those things and didn't impressed you at all.
