Great Live version
« on: August 31, 2009, 06:21:22 PM »
i want to use this thread for people to simply add a great performance of a song when they hear one.
i for example was just listening to TOL live in Budapest 85, and god it was a great version!
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

Six blade knife and In the Gallery - Cologne 17th Feb 1979 (not Rockpalast)
great versions, extended solos never heard anywhere else I guess.

Ride across the river - Stockholm 25th October 1985

Tunnel of Love - Wiesbaden 6th MAy 1981
with very powerful ending solo, also the "fast part of the solo" (with many pullofs, hardto describe with words...) is altered, sounds great, I never heard that anywhere else.

Brothers in arms, AVO session Basel. Listen to the part where he sings "And the moons riding high". That little piece makes it (for me) the best BIA ever.

Yes, localhero, that's one of my favourites of the more intimate versions - really beautiful!  :)

PS  Just had to have another look at the video!   Paraguay and BIA - wonderful!   :D

hi !
1. Telegraph road - shangri-la tour, Lyon - Hall Tony Garnier (france), especialy the sound of the Strat, I don't like the CTGC version because of the Pensa !!!
2. Hill farmer's blues, Marbeltown and speedway at nazareth - Charlotte USA 2008.
If I realised that the chances were slim,
How come I'm so surprised when the tide rolled in
