To me, the sound of this recording reminds me of John Illsley's latest solo albums.

Chris has stated many times that if there's a musician he'd wanted to be it would be Mark Knopfler, obviously MK influence is pretty huge throughout his life like for many of us. However, Mark seems to not bother at all and I've never seen him saying anything about Chris. Which is also a common practice
