My idea of heaven is a place where the Tyne meets the Delta, where folk music meets the blues.

amazing show last night... no Brother in Arms, and a couple of friends at the show asked why he doesn't play Sultans of Swing and I didn't have an answer. Anyone?

This is my second time seeing MK on this tour. Had 1st row at the Beacon in NYC, which is a very different experience than being in the last row of a giant outdoor arena.

A non-DS fan next to me was stunned that the music sounded so good... he was like "this sounds like being the studio!"  :clap

There must be a typo in the date of this thread, it says 22 of september, which is on two days, unless this is a travel in time issue...

I suspect two Greeks caused some confusion!     I'm sure jasoncalacanis attended the Berkeley Greek!    :)

He felt he could not bring it up to a decent standard during rehearsals, and decided to skip it. Wise thinking.

Telegraph was dropped early, maybe too demanding, you can see on the clips avaialable that he shakes the hands several times.

I really think MK is looking healthier and less old now.    Also I notice that since Verona or so, he's stopped saying "talks" and reverted to "talk" as in "can't do the talk like the talk on TV" in R&J.    :)

Any soundcheck clue ?

I was thinking the very same.  He seems to have lost weight and is moving a lot more too.  Touring is obviously good for him.  Compare this Mark to the very stiff and immobile one in Barcelona and there is a Marked difference!  His whole energy levels have gone up and his vocals have benefitted too.  The shows at the moment are great and the tour has just ended bar one.  :'(

I'll bet you the reason for the new shirt is that it is a couple of sizes smaller.   ;D

I'm happy for Mark that he both looks and sounds better now. As you've mentioned, seeing him at the beginning of the tour was quite a shock. I'm very surprised, though, that it took almost the entire tour before he got in shape. I hope he/they have learned a lesson for the future, that they need to start preparations way earlier. This past year was very busy for him, with the album, Local Hero, tour planning, and so on. Maybe time to do less at his age?

He won't learn; Tracker tour was just the same.  A bit less obvious due to his age perhaps but still the same.  Also in 2013...

For a guy who doesn't have to have a tight schedule, this is just odd. Two to three months earlier, he should get on a diet, get in good physical shape, sit down with the guitar three hours a day to loosen up those digits. It's not like he's going to play three nights at a pub with Steve Philips; we're talking world tour, costly, first-rate production, expensive tickets, high expectations and more. I don't get it. Does he over-estimate himself? Doesn't he care?
