Roger Waters' albums are very important. The lyrics are about many important things in this world.

But he seems to have become so weak as a melodist and or an arranger since The Final Cut.
(only my opinion)
"Amused to death" is a hell of an album, both musically and lyrically. "What God Wants, part III" features of gorgeous solo by Jeff Beck. "Watching TV" is very moving...

Exactly. And an amazing final...

Pink Floyd albums were crap after Roger left. Live they still put on a good show.

I gave it another try tonight - almost 30 years after first attemp - and could only stand it for 80 seconds.

80 seconds is 30% of the first (and introductory) track.
Not exactly what I would call a serious listen... :)

Roger is a musical genius. Even his last record that is the most boring thing I ever heard has something.

But the person, that's another thing.

Amused To Death is a fantastic record.

To quote Richard Wright "You have to accept Pink Floyd is not like it was when Roger was in it, but the Pink Floyd is bigger than all of us" Which sums it all up to me. Pink Floyd after Roger cannot be dismissed, there are great songs, and performances from that era.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

It's not the same for non English speaking fans. Pink Floyd were great with Waters lyrics and David music.

Without Roger, lyrics were very different but music was still excellent. For those who don't understand English or understand very little, Pink Floyd after Waters were massive.

Waters sólo records are very weak in the musical side, i ho. Specially the last, is extremely boring.
