Money For Nothing has been a revelation this tour.  Don't think it's sounded so good since 1985/6.  If the vocal was stronger then it would even rival that.

Once Upon A Time has been a nice surprise but I thought it might have evolved into something truly special.  Instead it just peters out without much to say for itself really.  Shame.  At the shows I got the impression the audience were really excited at the start of the song but underwhelmed by the end.  It promises much and delivers little.

I dig Once Upon A Time because of the musicianship, although yes, pity they got rid of the climactic Alchemy version and even the end section altogether. Why? At least they could save the ending. And pretty obvious, judging Guy's answers, that this song have been considered and played before, it's just it's got its way only on this tour. Let alone it was already performed by Dire Straits. Similar story with Silvertown Blues.

So yeah, it's cool to hear all that, but I wish for more songs from the new album and maybe 1-2 more of "surprises". But MK is MK :lol

I just think it's a bit anticlimactic.  The audience reaction tells the story really which is a real shame.  Still, I like it and I'm glad it's there!

1.  The best song for me was without a doubt "Money for Nothing" - amazing!
2.  Why Aye Man - great opener
3.  Matchstick Man - love the song, but wouldn't want to sit through the story too many times.  I hope on the usb stick it is divided so that the intro can be skipped.
4.  My Bacon Roll - loved it and sang my heart out!
5. Once Upon a Time.

Money for nothing and Once upon a time are great comebacks but the main highlight is Silvertown Blues imo since it has never been played live. Unfortunately it should be played by MK with a clean sound, just like the rehearsals we have from 2001, but he decided for a Gibson which is a pretty questionable choice. After the Kemper amp everything is allowed I guess...

I'm hearing you Crimmer and I agree...
Silvertown Blues, Once upon a time and Heart full of holes are outstanding although I love 'My Bacon Roll' - Live too....
Piper is just horrible with the Brassies...

Interesting points there.  I like R&J - it's a genuine classic.  The coda on Bacon Roll makes it this tour's Skydiver which is a pity because without it it would be fine - love the tone on the solo.  YLT - out.  Piper with the brassies - lovely song ruined.

Agree with you on everything, dmg, except the coda on Bacon Roll - I really love it!  It's something I look forward to hearing, as well as the beautiful solo, of course  :)   My main gripe is the brassies on Piper - I can't understand why MK did that!  :o

I am impressed by Piper To The End. The trumpet ( saxophone, clarinet) in the antiwar songs has always moved me. I can not explain it but I think Mark knows what he is doing.

Each to their own my Friend, but I cannot stand the trumpet on Piper....

1- My bacon roll (Finale : how 11 musicians can play on 1 chord without hurting each other !!??)
2- Once upon a time in the west (A dinosaur roars and coming out of his Les Paul)
3- Sailing to philadelphia (the aerial sound of the strat and his guitar licks are just amazing on this tour )
4- Money for nothing (for obvious reasons)
5- Why aye man (brass added more power)
6- Silvertown blues (still have to listen to the soundbourd recording to decide but I've always loved this song)
7- Postcard from Paraguay (love the new arrangments)
8- Matchstick man (short and sweet)
If I realised that the chances were slim,
How come I'm so surprised when the tide rolled in
