I don't know what the issue is. So, Silvertown was dropped for "this show" and Telegraph Road was dropped, it could come back, and Brothers in Arms has reappeared, and so has Once Upon A Time in the West, weren't people asking for a set list shake up? and not the static set list? this isn't static!! he won't change every song for every show, but the odd song in and out now and again is fine with me. Mark, for me, is over his career the greatest songwriter and guitarist out ever, there is no-one who can touch him for the quality of his playing, composition and lyrics combined.

Oh yes I agree! And as I said I really like the setlist from this tour a lot! I mean we had/have Silvertown, MFN, OUOATITW, WAM, Sailing, SAT, OES etc back how cool is only that already :). And Bacon Roll is for me really a beautifull song live :clap. But for me it doesn’t really matter if Mark has a static setlist in the tour. Usually people go 1 time, and then it matters only what he plays per tour and not necessarly per night. For us as we follow him every night the changing of the songs/setlist is cool. I hope he keeps the cool songs, like for example WAM or Silvertown (TR too in that way, but we can not wish for all) but a lot of times he skippes exactly the songs I like the most :lol.

On the other side it makes me more and more curious what he plays tonight and the rest of the tour ;D

I haven't really enjoyed BIA for a few tours now, but I just listened to the one from Bordeaux and I found it unexpectedly good!    :clap

On the whole there is a quite a bit of variation so far, which is great.

Great Brothers in Arms version. Hope to hear it live one more time.

Just watched it now on YT. I liked it very much. Great with the intro. Mark struggled with the lyrics a bit (looked at the prompter now and then as well) and clearly hasn't played it on guitar for some time, but you know what? It actually makes a bit more personal for me. This is Mark now. Past his prime as a guitarist and performer, but still delivering beautiful songs and with soul. You sense that it is not effortless for him anymore, and that makes it all the more special.

It's becoming a nightmare  :disbelief
Only the 8th show and he kicks out SB and TR...
Variation is good but it can't be on the best tracks.

We all know what it means : the truth is somewhere between definitely out  or first option when he needs to shorten the set or try another POS from the last album. Obviously, the biggest threat is on SB ... another YTC, Redbud tree, ... a couple of early tries and  gone forever  :'(

By the way, if anyone likes NDT, MM, HFOH ... , don't worry, bring your pillow to the show,  he's gonna play them every single time.
Could possibly play them twice on the same set.

What's left on the setlist ? 3 songs : OUATITW, SAN and MFN ... Come on.

Yes, I found it extremely touching, even though he struggled with the lyrics!

Couldn't actually listen to it without having a slight tear in the eye as its played very emotionally...

Don’t worry folks, I’ve just had some inside information and he will be playing the “everyone’s favourite 5 song setlist”, only the best of the best!

All that matters
Sonny liston
Stand up guy
Corned beef city

Encore:
Marbletown

So don’t complain if you “only” get 14 songs, except if they have to rush to the airport of course! ;D

as its played very emotionally...

Which is really all that matters. When it gets too slick, too rehearsed, when the autopilot sets in, or even worse, when Mark gets bored, that's when I lose interest as well.

I enjoyed that. I like the variation on the intro, I remember Mark saying he tried it different ways and it was never the same as the original, but it is great he is trying something different for the final tour, he was throwing in new licks often too, improvising.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

That's probably why this version is soooooo good...
