100% correct 2manyguitars.

How about the 'goodies' are locked away because 'our man's struggles playing them now??

We wouldn't want to remember MK trying to get through SOS on his potentially last tour would we, especially as it wouldn't be played like he did it in '85!!!! :lol

There is so much complaining on this forum these days, it makes me sad.   MK's saying this is his very last tour, and people are struggling to cope with the setlist??  He's playing more than an hour, he's got a great band, let him do what he wants and let's all just enjoy the songs - that's how I feel.

However, it's also cool that we're all talking and able to share how we feel without anyone feeling like they CAN'T say what's on their mind.   I'm sure we all have songs we'd like to hear for these last concerts.   I'd love to hear TOL again, and I DEFINITELY agree with everyone here about OSAAT (just because the lyrics are so personal), and I would even love it if DSMI would replace Pyroman as the tour surprise.  Is Don't Suck Me In popular enough to be DSMI yet?  LOL

I don't know about everyone else here but it bothers me what sort of legacy my man leaves behind on his final tour - this is why I am very much bothered about the setlist and so much want him to showcase his talent.  I want people to leave the show thinking highly of my man and not thinking highly of the band he has beside him and that he didn't play Sultans, he didn't play TR, he didn't play ToL...  This bothers me.  Does nobody else care about this or is it just me?  I'm getting ticked off from people in here because I care about the very person we're all supposed to be on here for and it seems nobody else is bothered what he hell he does!

You answered your own question. We are here because of what he does, not what we want him to do. Simple.
nah, be honest, you would also want him to do other things every now and then, add some spice. mix things up a bit etc.
i am a lifelong fan, love most of the stuff he does, but also i do not entirely like the current state of affairs. yes there is some great stuff, let us NOT forget he brought back OUATITW, but,...he has sooooooo effing much more to do that kind of stuff....

But what's the point of approaching it like that. If we only ever listen to what we want then our musical horizons will always remain narrow. I didn't want DS to go country in 1990, but I stuck with it and my tastes adapted. I wasn't a huge fan of folk music but I was open to the journey that Mark took us on. Of course I could list numerous songs I would personally like to hear, but the one thing I wouldn't do is to appear mortally wounded when I didn't hear what I wanted to, and I certainly wouldn't accuse MK&Co of short changing me or being lazy in approach.

I demand that mark plays down to the waterline on bagpipes, euphonium, and tuba. If it doesn't happen I will find this completely unacceptable and will take his lack of pipe and brass lessons as a personal affront to me, I mean how dare he not dredge up a song from 40 years ago and do something that is beyond his current capabilities just for my personal pleasure.....

Anyone see what I did there?  ;)  ;D

There is so much complaining on this forum these days, it makes me sad.   MK's saying this is his very last tour, and people are struggling to cope with the setlist??

It bothers me that foma/quizzy has dropped some of his epic complaining and it has been replaced with dmg's. It's fine that there is some variation in the complaining, i guess, but what about the fans who haven't heard a good foma whinge for ages? Anyway, it is still a pretty good line up of whinging generally, and, as it is the last tour, I'm going to just sit back and enjoy every last whine.

Thanks for that line, I laughed really hard reading this :lol Keep in mind, that I'm not a real moaner, I just troll people who are too sensitive for things, I feel a responsibility to attack when I see yet another blind praise or better yet, another dig towards moaners. I can't say I don't believe in everything that I say here, but my opinion is more or less based around my true feelings. So I'm sorry, Guy, guys here on AMIT, please bear with me.

I wish Brothers would be played on the show I was attending, this is the song I desperately wanted to hear. But I'm not a winner of MK Lottery.

Yes I give up.. always appreciate efforts but this stream is S--T!
any fan doing his best getting us anything out of those steel and concrete bunkers, should be hailed like a half-god, not this comment!
will you be streaming any of the shows you are going to go to?

Yes, I agree with Mr Pottel here, be thankful that people are making the effort to stream......

Jesus Christ, do you know how to read?  :disbelief I started saying I always appreciate the efforts made by people.... Come on.

So some changes again yesterday, MK lottery here to stay :lol

Brothers in Arms makes a lot good! But atleast they should have kept Silvertown... I really would love to hear that one live and they played it really nice 8).

I still think if it comes to Marks playing, the TR versions where really good this tour, yeah shorter end solo but with good and a lot of energy and he did some really nice licks.. atleast thats what I thought  ;D. With BIA you hear him struggeling even much more in the end solo, the rest he played nicely :). So no idea where the choices come from :think.

Still I really like the setlist... if he dicides to really drop TR. Then atleast leave BIA and Silvertown in ;D. Or yeah OSAAT is ofcourse also welcome, but he could play that instead of postcards?!  :think :lol

Instead of Bonaparte. OSAAT and Bonaparte have kind of the same tempo and feel. Postcards sounds really good now and should stay.

I don't know what the issue is. So, Silvertown was dropped for "this show" and Telegraph Road was dropped, it could come back, and Brothers in Arms has reappeared, and so has Once Upon A Time in the West, weren't people asking for a set list shake up? and not the static set list? this isn't static!! he won't change every song for every show, but the odd song in and out now and again is fine with me. Mark, for me, is over his career the greatest songwriter and guitarist out ever, there is no-one who can touch him for the quality of his playing, composition and lyrics combined.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

I agree that the setlist is becoming less static on this tour, which is what we have been hoping would happen for a long time.   I have no idea what will be on my three set lists, so whatever comes along will be a surprise!   I have a few hopes and wishes, but I'm sure the show will be fine - no, great!   :)

We are in the same boat here. First, people complain about static set list and now they are talking about MK lottery as a bad thing  :hmm Of course I understand the importance of Telegraph road for many people, but it does not have the glory it used to have and again Speedway is a bit similar "building up" song. Silvertown blues in very emotional song for me and I truly would like to hear that. Whether I will happen or not, let´s see. However, I am enjoying this journey!
