;) Thanks Tommy. Yes that sounds a lot more realistic than my guess... :)

Seems clear to me that the character in Hard Shoulder is a call-out car break down man. Here in the UK we have organisations like the AA and the RAC who will come and fix your car if you break down on the road, he is one of those guys. But also his own relationship with somebody has "broken down".

The song to me is very similar to the Jimmy Webb/Glenn Campbell classic "Witchita Lineman", musically it has similarities but lyrically too it's about a working man being lonely on the job.

16 Time In The Sun (2:52)

Everybody wants their time in the sun
time in the sun

you've got it now your time in the sun
time in the sun

Time In The Sun

Round here you don't get Time in the sun
time in the sun

Don't get the ball you don't get to run
time in the sun

Time In The Sun

Try Try Try no cigar
time in the sun

Pull over here get out of the car
time in the sun

Time In The Sun
"I could play my accordion And charm all of the women And dance round the taproom With a chair in my teeth"

Man, thats a great interpretation! I think i`m one of the few that really love this song, but i know i`d have listened to it for years without making the jump to understanding!!! (which can be a good thing i guess)

The reverse of this is i`d prefer to have NOT known what Border Reiver was about. My imagination and vibe with the music would have believed it was some sort of Ode To Girl with Irish Dance, instead of truck driving!!!! :)
Hey, i`ve got a truffle dog - finally a song the ordinary man can relate too!

Yeah, indeed.  MK really does me good this time.  Now I'm waiting for the guitar tab for this song.  Oh, one question, in the Deluxe box, we can find Guitar tab for the song Get Lucky or the Get Lucky album.  Hopefully your answer is the latter one.

The tab is for the song Get Lucky, not for the whole album... :)

Thanks for your answer, localhero1986.   :(
My idea of heaven is a place where the Tyne meets the Delta, where folk music meets the blues.

"Blarney and Malarkey, theyre a devious firm
They'll..."

Dan,  You're an Irishman!   It means a lot of misleading talk -  Blarney & Malarkey - Imagine a dodgy roofing firm coming round after a gale "We've noticed you've a few ridge tiles loose, sir, we can fix it now, sir, only
Goin' into Tow Law....
