I never heard Mark saying he starved or slept in the cold, guys. My understanding is that he had food on his table, a warm bed, loving parents... and maybe the reason his dad couldn't afford an amplifier and got him a cheap guitar instead of a Fender was the fact that he prioritized other things in life. There's a grey area in between white and black you know.

Agree, it's just a funny story, MK has never pleaded poverty.

My mum made sure I never went without the essentials but I remember plugging my cheap electric into the mic input of my Aiwa ghetto blaster.

Kind of makes me feel sad really.

But at least in the dystopian future to come those of us who can afford it can get thoroughly smashed on  our expensive Knopfler Gin, before collapsing into our Clapton inspired bed before falling asleep on our soft Jeff Beck designed pillows....
