I think Hard Shoulder is great as is Monteleone (even though it's essentially Heart Full of Holes part 2). The strings really compliment and expand his sound.

You Can't Beat The House is half arsed full stop. It sounds like the sort of thing that he would have thrown away on a B side ten years ago. I'd be interested to see what the 3 extra tracks on the deluxe set are like in the light of that.

I really like Monteleone. Much better track than Heart Full of Holes IMO, and not particularly similar apart from that one line of melody and the fact that they are both mid-tempo waltzes.

More useful info, thanks again.

If you could explain Cleaning My Gun next, that would be great.  ;)

As I didn't listened to the whole album yet, I'm afraid I can't help right now. Is it just me  ;) or is anyone thinking too, that unscrambling the lyrics of MK is really interesting?!

EDIT: Ok, I figured that out - late but finally.  Being not a native speaker, I tend to get the drift slowly ;D

Yes, Monteleone is much better than Heart Full of Holes but I still think it could be tagged onto the end of that song as a coda and no-one would notice they were two different songs.

Just have to agree to disagree! I think Monteleone is a much more lush and happy sounding song, each to their own.  :)

Seriously if I ever met MK I would snap all his plectrums in half.

Awesome idea! You take the plectrums, I rip out all his whammy bars  ;D

After listening to the tracks in my car it's growing on me. There are some beautiful songs on it, also some boring ones inmy opinion, but I will give them some more time  :)

Some of the songs are really getting under my skin... in the past few days I've had Piper Till The End, The Car Was the One and Remembrance Day stuck in my head at various points.

The only song that I haven't really got into so far is Gas and TV.

I also wake up with the tune of Remembrance Day. Get Lucky is one of my faves too.
