Yes, I didn't like Song For Sonny Liston, Marbletown and once I heard live I thought "Damn, I had too much cerumen in my ears when I listetened to the albums  ???"
I think that Mark and the band will play these new songs a way that will make think the same again !

Darling pretty could have been in Get Lucky too !

Welcome Fred.!
I've still managed to steer clear of any songs, apart from the song Border Reiver, which i heard part of on the radio.
I've started waking up with cold sweats. :-\

Sonny Liston live was awesome. :P

I never liked this one. Was fortunate in 2008 to attend the leg when he did not play it and I enjoyed Paraguay much better  ;D

Hello Fred, welcome to AMIT! I am sure you will have a great time here with all the nice, intelligent, helpful and sometimes crazy fans!  ;) ....I don't want to be curious, but where are you from?  ROFL  ;D

Quote BBB: I've still managed to steer clear of any songs, apart from the song Border Reiver, / I've started waking up with cold sweats.

Nigel I still didn't listen to the other songs either, so that makes two! ........Hey you have cold sweats, but I have hot sweats when I think about the new album ........or do you think it can be my hot flushes?  :o ;D

welcome on board Fred !
My GL diagnostic :
One of the most melodic album that Mark ever done. it impressive how each album has its own sound, own coulors, this one is no exception to the rule.
My tribute to Glenn Worf, his bass playing is magnificent as usual !
Border Reiver : a song that makes you want to dance, perfect on stage. (bravo glenn)
Hard shoulder : realy the same atmosphere than "A place we used to leave", more melodic
you can't beat the house : the surprise of the album. never expect a real basic blues song.
Before gas & tv : celtic atmosphere, campfire legend, tales...
Monteleone : a marvel, how it waltz, sad and joyful at the same time
cleaning my gun : a good tempo, a surprise, country/rock, a mix between "Millionnaire blues" and "kingdom come"... a beautiful work between Danny and Glenn !
The xar was the one  : another Hank influence, with beautiful melodies... as usual
Remembrance day : Realy happy to hear a composition as we love, Dire Straits time, with this beautiful chorus, when a saw  the children's picture on Guy's forum, I thought first " oh non children shouting !", but I underestimated mark, they are just fabulous, the Les Paul is perfect, just enough.
Get lucky : Beautiful, a lovely walk
So far from the Clyde : sublime song, the story is beautiful, sad and always this attraction for sea and boats
Pipe to the end : A good ending song on stage, celtic and pure

If I realised that the chances were slim,
How come I'm so surprised when the tide rolled in

Indeed. Am I the only one thinking that the last instrumental part of PTTE has very much of "Going Home" from the last tour? It would be surprising if
this song would NOT be played live as the last song.

I really hope you're right, LE.  It would be the perfect ending to a concert!   :D   Border Reiver would be a great opener too!  :)

Yeah, would be good, with Matt on accordian and John on fiddle.

Cleaning My Gun would be a great opener as well. :)
