Hi there, I just purchased the Cordoba show and I'm in shock with what they've done with Speedway in particular… sounds awful. Anybody else with the same impression? I'm listening to MFN right now, something's not right…
Why don't you explain what the issue is so we can listen for it? I've listened through this show several times and don't recall anything unusual about Speedway. In fact, I think this show sound particularly good compared to the other. Maybe not the best performance, but the mix is improved.
Judging from the answer and tone, seems like I bumped into somebody from the company in charge of the mixing.
If this is the case, please allow me to explain it to you: (if my assumption is not correct, I´ll just share my thoughts with the members of the forum)
Regarding some of the songs:
Done with Bonaparte: Did you land an ear on Glenn's bass? should have been kept a little at the back, that NOT where the song is.
Speedway: Shite. Crap. Bullshit. From start to finish. Can you hear the engine revving? I CAN'T. In fact, nobody can. If you don't know what I mean, you don't know the SONG. Where is Richard's guitar when he enter's like a thunderstorm at the end? Can't be heard. Guy's synth becomes the protagonist of the song. They did not get it. AGAIN. It's simple, but they keep ruining the song.
Telegraph Road: Please listen between 9:45 and 11.24 THE MOST DISASTROUS mix I've ever listenned to. Volume issues. Don't they pay attention to the SONG? How it is builds up? You know, the man doesn't change the setlist that often. In fact, it used to be present in every tour. 2013 and 2015 sound way better (and they're not spectacular mixes either)
Money for nothing: Watered down. No substance.
They're just focusing on Mark's voice and guitar. Sad.
Overall quality, really low. For the first time in my life, I feel like asking for a refund.Money back. I was there (been to 6 already) and it saddens me to hear what has been done with it.
I know plenty of audience recordings with much more feel in it that this particular mix.
