This is my favourite of those "leaked" today.

It's a song that makes me smile and sing along. The guitar tone makes goosebumps. Classic Knopfler, that says all.

Can't wait to (hopefully) hear it live!

Thanks for PM.
Guys, I listened to her and ... she's very beautiful. Even if there are flutes and pipes, the song is very rhythmic and, therefore, makes the wind instruments overshadow. However, what I am noticing in these first 5 songs is the real trademark of the soloist Mark, ie his Les Paul. And this makes me really happy for the rest of the album. :D
And I request confirmation from JF.

Trapper man, BOTDF and one song at a time are the highlights of the album imho
I would add floating away which I like very much

the rest of album contains others gems, but not in the same style.
if you're looking for other Les Paul lead parts, I think the most evident is GOYS
Drover's road has of course the lead part ala before gas and TV, and my bacon roll has a lead guitar, but not in the same vein. clean/crunch tone
Floatin away has a lead part two, also clean/crunch tone
and also nobody does that has lead guitar

yes I think you can make expectations for the rest of the album....believe me.....may I say it's a "killer" album ? ::) :) ;D (don't call me Guy please..)

I feel the same, only heard 5 songs so far.. but already convinced this is way better than Tracker! I really need the 2019 Tour!

What a wonderful song! You would expect to have heard this type of song from Mark before by means of structure and instrumentation but this sounds so fresh and a bit more energetic. Very very nice.

Fresh and more energetic, just what the doctor ordered. It's classic Mark, but with a "twist". Very nice.

This should have been the single instead of GOYS.
It has all the emotional power of Piper and Submariner, plus the energy of Border.
The killer song !

Beautiful, only Mark can make you travel this way.
If I realised that the chances were slim,
How come I'm so surprised when the tide rolled in

Instant classic, this one. I wish this outro never ended, but it ends so brutally in this radio clip. Powerful song.
...Well, he's a big star now but I've been a fan of his for years. The way he sings and plays guitar still bring me to tears...
