Nice to hear a totally different song from what we’re used to and furthermore it’s well executed and produced. But at the same time to me it is a non original and dated sound and not a song containing the qualities I’ve come to love Mark’s music for.

Perfectly summed up.

Well said. When I was picking out this song on guitar, I was constantly thinking "what's the purpose of this song, what's the purpose".

And there's no purpose, it's just for the entertainment. Shake your moneymaker, baby. Closer to the floor preferably.

I must correct myself about the Fletcher Crap though. This one is pure 70's funk with great brass on it. I start  to like it more and more as soon as I agree with it being nothing more than a fun number. It is worked out and done in a great way. Mea culpa.

Buy the way, the sound of this organ reminds me the song "Bertha" by Guy Fletcher OBE, Guy Fletcher's uncle. And it was for BBC Children's TV series Bertha. The song Nobody Does That also sounds like a soundtrack for something. Not necessarily a bad thing, but you all know what I think.

I haven't seen Bertha in 30 years but I could sing every sword of that song for you right now. Great song!

This song Nobody Does That is actually quite cool!
It took me some time. I guess MK is too far ahead.
Play it loud, folks! Dance!

I read all the reviews carefully and this song has the biggest criticism, but something changes  :)

don't you hear any "Supersition" influences ?
the brass riff reminds me of Stevie's tune

Yes I do! But that's the kind of musical quotation I can live with and which is no problem. I think this song is extremly well arranged. The brass section is really top and Nigel really shows what he is famous for.

It's funny that for years we moan about MK always doing the same and getting slower and slower and now that he really comes up with something new (in his departement of course, not new in the sense of innovative) we seem to be like a bunch of children that is wary of strangers ...

I am not  ;D ;)

since the first listen of this album I immediately said I love it ! all songs, except maybe Heavy up which si the weakest for me

I do love Nobody does that, and I do love this "superstition" flavour  :thumbsup

And yes, the main thing about this album is that "fresh and new" mood, that I enjoy the most.
I like the way Mark chose to "evolve".

I don't mind the Guy's production sound.
Even if I never have been found of Guy's work at all, I don't think that it "ruins" the songs here, as it had been sometimes said.

From trapper man to slow learner, absolutely no skipper for me, and a very very enjoying album !

That has zero to do with my feelings about the songs and album so far.....
